Hovis®, the iconic 133-year-old well-loved British brand, announces today a two-year charity partnership with Alzheimer’s Society, the UK’s leading dementia charity. Every day, they work tirelessly to find new treatments and, ultimately, a cure for dementia. It was chosen following a vote amongst all of Hovis’® 3,000 employees who selected it as their charity of choice.Dementia is the UK’s biggest killer. Someone develops dementia every three minutes and there is currently no cure. It affects the whole family and so a big part of the charity’s objective is to drive awareness and provide support for families and younger people who are indirectly affected by the disease.The main focus of the partnership will be supporting the Alzheimer's Society Side-by-Side service which aims to connect people with dementia to their communities again and support them to keep doing the things they love. Hovis® aims to raise funds through a calendar of key fundraising events for all Hovis® colleagues to take part in.
