Made with Hovis® Soft White Medium Sliced

Preparation time: 5 mins

Cook time: 5-10 mins

Serves 1

Ingredients

  • 1 Slice Hovis® Soft White Medium Sliced
  • 1 Tbsp Chocolate spread
  • 1 Egg
  • Icing sugar (for dusting)

Tip

Top these however you like - fresh berries would be a lovely addition. You could also try filling the inside with pistachio paste instead of chocolate spread for a bit of a different flavour.

Method

1

Cut the crusts off a slice of fluffy Hovis® Soft White bread. (Keep your crusts and use them for another dish! Pop them in the freezer to make croutons later or try using them in our Tuscan-style Ribollita.)

On a wooden chopping board, someone is cutting the crusts off a slice of bread on a dark marble worktop.
2

Using your fingertips, gently flatten the slice to make a dent in the middle. Then fill the dent with your favourite chocolate spread.

3

Whisk your egg in the bowl and spread the egg wash around the edges of the bread to help it stick together. Fold your slice in half and crimp the edges with a fork then pop in an air fryer or oven (180°C) for 5-10 mins until golden and toasty.

4

To make these even more of a treat, dust with icing sugar and drizzle with some more chocolate spread. Eat carefully as they may be pretty hot.
