In a bowl, combine a tin of tuna with a couple of tablespoons of mayonnaise. Season with salt and pepper to taste and set aside.
Evenly spread butter on both sides of each slice of bread. Place one slice, butter-side down, onto the toastie machine. Spread the tuna mayo mixture over the bread on the grill and top with cheddar.
