Cheese and Ham Toastie

A mouth-watering cheese and ham toastie with golden, crispy bread, gooey melted cheedar and savoury ham. Perfectly toasted, irresistibly delcious and the ultimate comfort food for any time of the day.

Ingredients

  • 2 Slices Hovis® Soft White Thick Sliced
  • 1 Tablespoons of butter
  • 2 Slices of ham (thick)
  • 75g Mature cheddar (sliced)

Tip

Gruyère, Swiss or Mozzarella are excellent additions. A blend of cheeses can add complexity to your toastie.

Method

Butter both sides of the two slices of bread and make two sandwiches with two slices of ham and half of the cheddar in each.

Place the sandwiches into a frying pan and heat gently. Allow to cook for 3-4 minutes or until the cheese has begun to melt and the bread is golden. Flip the sandwiches over and cook for a further 3-4 minutes.

Once the cheese has melted and both sides are golden brown, remove from the pan, slice and serve immediately.
