Jam Pennies

Delight in these classic jam pennies, featuring two slices of bread filled with sweet, fruity jam. These bite-sized sandwiches are perfect for afternoon tea or a nostalgic treat.

Ingredients

  • 20 Slices of Hovis® Soft White Medium Sliced
  • 5 Tablespoons of unsalted butter in room temperature
  • 10 Tablespoons of jam

Tip

Cut the crusts before buttering and jamming the bread up. They can stored to make breadcrumbs or even bread pudding!

Method

Trim the crusts off the sliced bread. Spread butter on one side of both slices. On only one of the slices, spread your preferred jam over the buttered side, then sandwich them together.

Use a biscuit, scone, or pastry cutter (a cup or glass would also work!) to stamp out small rounds of bread; the smaller the better!
